Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against a man and a resort, alleging a shocking incident that occurred during a wedding reception. On March 13, 2025, Jane Doe lodged her complaint in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, accusing Cedric Ryan Roberge and Dolphin Reef, LLC, doing business as Fusion Resort, of serious misconduct.
According to the court documents, Jane Doe was attending a wedding at Fusion Resort on March 24, 2023. She claims that after being offered a drink by Cedric Ryan Roberge—despite initially declining—she consumed it and began feeling severely impaired. The plaintiff alleges that she was subsequently dragged to another bar by other guests due to her inability to walk properly. Later that night, back at her hotel room within the resort's premises, she contends that Roberge assaulted her while she was unconscious after being drugged with methadone or another illicit substance.
The complaint further accuses Roberge of violating Florida Statute §794.011 (4)(b) by committing assault without consent. Jane Doe recounts waking up to find herself being assaulted and informed by Roberge that she "won't remember anything." The lawsuit details the physical and psychological injuries suffered by Doe as a result of this incident, including bodily harm and permanent psychological trauma.
In addition to suing Roberge for his alleged actions, Jane Doe is also holding Fusion Resort accountable for negligence. She argues that the resort failed in its duty to ensure guest safety by not monitoring or intervening when she was visibly impaired and being physically carried through public areas of the property. The lawsuit claims that staff members had ample opportunity to notice her condition but did nothing to prevent further harm.
Jane Doe seeks damages exceeding $50,000 from both defendants for past and future pain and suffering, medical expenses, mental anguish, loss of dignity, and more. She demands a jury trial and any other appropriate relief deemed necessary by the court.
Representing Jane Doe are attorneys Thomas D. Roebig Jr., Taylor D. Roebig, John J. Hart, and Sarah K. Bartlett from Florin Roebig PA law firm based in Palm Harbor, Florida. The case is presided over under Case Number: 25-001220-CI.
