Christine Hanson has filed a lawsuit seeking damages for injuries she sustained due to an alleged negligence incident at a property owned by Robin and William Porterfield. The complaint was filed on March 12, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The defendants, Robin and William Porterfield, are accused of failing to maintain safe conditions on their property.

The case stems from an incident that occurred on March 16, 2023, when Christine Hanson was visiting the Porterfields' property located at 4120 Belle Vista Drive in St. Pete Beach, Florida. According to the complaint, Hanson slipped and fell on liquid that had accumulated on a staircase while she was walking down it. This fall resulted in serious and permanent injuries for Hanson. The complaint alleges that the Porterfields were negligent in maintaining their property and failed to ensure that it was safe for invitees like Hanson.

Hanson's lawsuit outlines several specific allegations against the Porterfields. It claims they breached their duty of care by allowing a foreign substance to accumulate on the stairway without warning visitors or taking steps to prevent such hazardous conditions. Furthermore, it accuses them of not having an adequate inspection routine that could have identified and addressed the dangerous condition before Hanson's accident occurred.

As a result of this alleged negligence, Hanson suffered significant physical injuries affecting her body and extremities. She incurred medical expenses for treatment and faced limitations in leading a normal life due to disfigurement and loss of earnings capacity. These impairments are described as permanent or continuing in nature, indicating ongoing consequences for her well-being.

In response to these allegations, Christine Hanson is seeking judgment against Robin and William Porterfield along with compensation exceeding $50,000—exclusive of interest and costs—for her injuries sustained during this incident. Additionally, she demands a jury trial for all issues triable under law related to this case.

Representing Christine Hanson is attorney David P. Lister from Lister & Alvarez law firm based in Weston, Florida. The case is presided over by Judge Ken Burke under Case Number: 25-001207-CI within Pinellas County's Circuit Court system.
