A tragic medical mishap has led to a lawsuit filed by a grieving mother against several healthcare providers in Palm Beach County, Florida. Tiye Wilkins initiated the complaint on February 19, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit, alleging negligence by Robert Gordon, DO; Vishal Gulati, MD; Andrew Hall, MD; OB/GYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches, II, LLC; Jupiter Medical Center, Inc.; F&S Radiology, P.C.; and Sheridan Emergency Physician Services, Inc.

The lawsuit stems from events beginning on March 18, 2023, when Wilkins presented at Jupiter Medical Center's obstetrical emergency department with abdominal cramping. Despite being confirmed pregnant at that time, an ultrasound conducted by Dr. Andrew Hall suggested a complex ovarian cystic mass and possible ectopic pregnancy. Following consultations with Dr. Robert Gordon and Dr. Vishal Gulati, Wilkins was administered Methotrexate for suspected ectopic pregnancy without definitive diagnostic confirmation. Subsequent follow-ups revealed an intrauterine pregnancy which later resulted in fetal demise diagnosed on May 17, 2023.

Wilkins accuses the defendants of failing to meet professional standards of care expected in their respective fields. The complaint details specific failures such as lack of definitive diagnostic confirmation before administering teratogenic medication and failure to provide safe care for a desired pregnancy. "Defendant GORDON deviated or departed from the prevailing professional standard of care," states the complaint regarding Dr. Gordon's actions.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 from each defendant along with prejudgment interest and costs for medical expenses incurred due to the alleged negligence leading to her unborn child's loss. The complaint outlines multiple counts against individual practitioners and institutions involved in Wilkins' care under theories of direct negligence and vicarious liability.

Representing Tiye Wilkins is William D. Zoeller from Schuler Weisser Zoeller Overbeck & Baxter P.A., located in West Palm Beach. The case is filed under Case Number: 502025CA001507XXXAMB.
