Amy Schleien has filed a lawsuit against a major retail corporation following an incident that left her with severe injuries. On February 19, 2025, Amy Schleien lodged a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, targeting Target Corporation for negligence.
The case revolves around an unfortunate event on April 15, 2024, when Schleien was shopping at a Target store located at 10201 Hagen Ranch Road in Boynton Beach, Florida. According to the complaint, as she walked through the store, she fell due to a foreign object on the floor near a greeting card display. This fall resulted in significant and permanent injuries for Schleien, leading to substantial medical expenses and ongoing pain and suffering. The plaintiff alleges that these injuries were directly caused by Target Corporation's negligence.
Schleien's complaint accuses Target Corporation of failing to maintain a safe environment for its customers. She claims that the corporation did not adequately mark or identify hazardous conditions within the store and failed to warn customers about these dangers. Furthermore, she asserts that Target neglected its duty by not adopting necessary policies or procedures to prevent such dangerous conditions from arising. "Failure to properly hire, fire, retain, supervise, and/or train employees" is among the numerous allegations listed against Target Corporation in the complaint.
In seeking justice from the court, Schleien requests compensatory damages exceeding $50,000 for her physical pain and suffering as well as other related expenses. She also seeks general damages along with costs and pre-judgment interest. The plaintiff has demanded a trial by jury to address all issues presented in this case.
The legal proceedings are being handled by Edward G. Jimenez of Jimenez Legal, The Law Firm P.A., based in Coral Springs, Florida. The case is filed under Case Number: 502025CA001521 XXXAMB.
