Anna Hoffman has filed a compelling lawsuit, seeking justice after a traumatic dog attack incident. The complaint was lodged on February 18, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. It targets Genesis Roman, SD - Sand Cove, LLC, and Pedcor Management Corp., alleging negligence and statutory violations.

The case revolves around an unfortunate event that took place on May 30, 2024. Anna Hoffman claims she was attacked by a Rottweiler owned by Genesis Roman while exiting an elevator at the Sand Cove apartment complex in St. Pete Beach. The complaint highlights that prior to this incident, another resident had reported aggressive behavior from the same dog to the property management. Despite this warning, no action was taken to remove or control the animal. Hoffman's legal team argues that this oversight constitutes negligence on the part of both the dog owner and the property managers.

Hoffman’s lawsuit is grounded in Florida's Dog Bite Statute § 767.04, which holds dog owners strictly liable for injuries caused by their pets. She asserts that Genesis Roman is responsible for her injuries under this statute. Furthermore, she accuses SD - Sand Cove, LLC and Pedcor Management Corp., who own and manage the apartment complex respectively, of failing to enforce their lease agreement clause regarding complaints about animals. This failure allegedly led to her suffering significant physical and mental harm.

In terms of relief sought from the court, Anna Hoffman demands damages exceeding $50,000 for her injuries which include pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, and medical expenses both past and future due to their permanent or continuing nature. She seeks compensation not only from Genesis Roman but also from SD - Sand Cove LLC and Pedcor Management Corp., holding them accountable for their alleged negligence in managing tenant safety.

Representing Anna Hoffman are attorneys Joshua J. Wagner, Jeremiah B. Greathouse, and Matthew McGovern from Vasilaros Wagner law firm based in Daytona Beach. The case is presided over by Judge Ken Burke under Case Number: 25-000746-CI.
