In a gripping legal battle that could have significant implications for business safety standards, a Pinellas County resident has taken action against a local establishment following an unfortunate incident. Kathleen Marian Bagneschi filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on October 24, 2024, accusing Maple Lanes Clearwater, LLC of negligence after she suffered injuries at their premises.

According to the lawsuit filed by Bagneschi through her attorneys at Rubenstein Law, P.A., the incident occurred on January 29, 2024. Bagneschi was visiting Maple Lanes Clearwater's bowling alley located at 27867 US Hwy 19 N in Clearwater when she slipped on a sticky substance present on the floor of one of the lanes. The complaint alleges that this hazardous condition resulted from the defendant's failure to maintain a safe environment for its patrons. "The Defendant owed to its business invitees a duty to provide a reasonably safe environment," states the filing.

Bagneschi accuses Maple Lanes Clearwater of multiple counts of negligence. The lawsuit claims that the company failed to ensure that their premises were free from dangerous conditions by allowing liquids or sticky substances to accumulate on the floor without proper warnings or barricades. Furthermore, it argues that these hazardous conditions had existed long enough for the defendant to be aware and rectify them but failed to do so. As a result of this alleged negligence, Bagneschi sustained severe injuries leading to physical and mental pain and suffering, loss of earnings, and other financial burdens due to medical expenses.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs. She demands compensation for her injuries which are described as permanent or continuing in nature. Additionally, Bagneschi requests judgment for damages along with costs and interest from Maple Lanes Clearwater while also demanding a jury trial for all triable issues.

Representing Kathleen Marian Bagneschi is attorney Nicole Seeley from Rubenstein Law, P.A., based in Miami. The case is identified under Case Number: 24-004664-CI and will be presided over by judges within the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Pinellas County.
