April Ridford has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based restaurant, claiming negligence after suffering injuries from a slip and fall incident on the premises. The complaint was officially lodged in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on October 15, 2024, targeting Peking Place Restaurant Inc. as the defendant.

According to the complaint, Ridford was visiting Peking Place on January 25, 2024, when she encountered a slippery substance near the bathroom area. This unforeseen hazard caused her to slip and fall, resulting in significant injuries. Ridford's legal representation argues that Peking Place had a duty of care to maintain safe conditions for its guests and invitees but failed to uphold this responsibility. The complaint emphasizes that "the Defendant knew or should have known" about the hazardous condition and neglected to address it or provide adequate warnings.

Ridford's lawsuit accuses Peking Place of several acts of negligence: failing to maintain their premises safely, neglecting proper inspection protocols, and not controlling hazardous areas effectively. Furthermore, it is alleged that despite knowing patrons would traverse these areas, Peking Place did not take reasonable steps to remedy or warn about the dangerous conditions present. The complaint states that due to this negligence, Ridford has endured physical pain and suffering along with mental anguish. She also faces ongoing issues such as disability and disfigurement which have impacted her quality of life and earning capacity.

In seeking justice from the court, Ridford demands compensation exceeding $50,000 for damages incurred from medical expenses to loss of income due to her injuries. Additionally, she requests any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. A jury trial has been demanded by Ridford’s legal team for all triable issues related to this case.

The case is represented by Ian Bressler Law P.A., with Ian Bressler serving as Ridford's attorney. The Case ID is: 502024CA009855XXXAMB.
