Rosa E. Chang Crespo has filed a lawsuit alleging negligence against several entities following an incident at a shopping center that left her injured. The complaint was filed on October 15, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, naming Town Center at Boca Raton Trust, Simon Property Group, Inc., Allied Universal Topco LLC, and Mango Biche Mia LLC as defendants.
The lawsuit stems from an accident that occurred on November 2, 2023, when Rosa E. Chang Crespo visited the Town Center at Boca Raton located at 6000 Glades Road in Boca Raton, Florida. According to the complaint, Crespo was a business invitee on the premises when she slipped and fell on mango juice or fruit that had been left on the floor for an extended period. The plaintiff alleges that this dangerous condition was not addressed by any of the defendants despite their duty to maintain safe premises.
Crespo's complaint outlines several accusations against each defendant. She claims they failed to maintain safe conditions and neglected to warn her about potential hazards they knew or should have known existed. Additionally, she accuses them of failing to train employees properly in maintaining safety standards and creating unsafe conditions through their business operations. "The condition occurred with regularity and was therefore foreseeable," states one part of the complaint, emphasizing the predictability of such incidents.
The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,001 for injuries sustained due to alleged negligence by all named parties. These damages include compensation for bodily injury, pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity, and other related losses which are described as either permanent or continuing.
