Plaintiff accuses Publix Super Markets of Negligence Leading to Severe Injuries

State Court

A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit against a major supermarket chain, alleging negligence that led to significant personal injuries. Kameron Davis lodged the complaint against Publix Super Markets, Inc. in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida on September 17, 2024.

According to the court documents, Davis claims that while visiting a Publix store located at 40932 US Hwy 19 N., Tarpon Springs, on April 4, 2024, he slipped and fell due to hazardous conditions in the baby goods aisle. The complaint asserts that an employee was mopping nearby but failed to put up any warning signs about the wet floor. Davis contends that Publix had a duty to maintain its premises safely and warn customers of potential dangers but failed to do so.

The plaintiff's attorney, Megan Tiralosi from Morgan & Morgan Tampa P.A., outlined several points of alleged negligence by Publix. These include failing to maintain or adequately inspect the flooring, creating slip hazards without proper warnings, and not training employees sufficiently to handle such situations. "Defendant breached these duties by negligently failing to maintain or adequately maintain the flooring," states the complaint.

Davis alleges that as a direct result of this negligence, he sustained severe injuries including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent scarring, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. He also cites financial burdens due to medical expenses and loss of earnings. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and interest.

The case is being handled by Judge Ken Burke under Case Number 24-004171-CI. Attorney Megan Tiralosi represents Kameron Davis in his pursuit for justice against Publix Super Markets.
