A slip-and-fall incident at a local restaurant has led to a lawsuit seeking over $50,000 in damages. On August 27, 2024, Mary Ann Norton filed a complaint against Playa Bowls Boca LLC in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida.

According to the court documents, Norton alleges that on August 4, 2024, she was a customer at Playa Bowls located at 895 E. Palmetto Park Rd., Boca Raton, FL. During her visit, she slipped on smashed fruit that had been left on the floor near the entrance of the restaurant. The plaintiff claims that the defendant either knew or should have known about this hazardous condition and failed to address it.

The complaint outlines several allegations against Playa Bowls Boca LLC. Norton asserts that the restaurant had a duty to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition for its customers. She accuses Playa Bowls of negligence for allowing a hazardous condition to exist and failing to take adequate measures to prevent such incidents. Specifically, she claims that the restaurant did not properly inspect or maintain the premises and did not warn customers about potential dangers.

Norton’s injuries from the fall are described as severe and permanent. She states that she has suffered physical pain and mental anguish as well as disability and loss of enjoyment of life. The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other related costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Ernesto G. Rivero from Morgan & Morgan P.A.
