A man has filed a lawsuit against a major supermarket chain, alleging negligence after suffering an injury on their premises. Anthony Salazar filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on August 22, 2024, against Publix Super Markets, Inc.

According to the court documents, Salazar was visiting a Publix store located at 15625 Southern Blvd in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida, on May 25, 2024. During his visit, he slipped and fell on water that had leaked from under a freezer. The complaint alleges that this dangerous condition had been present for an extended period without any warnings or barriers to alert customers. Salazar claims that Publix failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and neglected its duty to protect customers from foreseeable harm.

Salazar's attorneys argue that Publix's negligence directly caused his injuries. They claim that the supermarket chain either knew or should have known about the hazardous condition but failed to take appropriate action to rectify it or warn customers. "Defendant allowed said dangerous and defective condition to exist for a sufficient length of time," states the complaint. The plaintiff is seeking compensation for various damages including bodily injuries, pain and suffering, disability (both temporary and permanent), disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, lost earnings and earning capacity, significant medical expenses incurred due to related injuries, and aggravation of an existing condition.

The lawsuit demands judgment for damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs. Salazar is also requesting additional relief as deemed just by the court and insists on a jury trial for all triable issues.

Representing Anthony Salazar is Mario Serralta & Associates with Mario Serralta as the lead attorney. The case has been assigned Case Number: 502024CA007965XXXAMB Div: AH in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
