A shocking incident at a Boca Raton restaurant has led to a lawsuit alleging negligence and seeking substantial damages. On July 18, 2024, Jessica Pittman filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Big Time Restaurant Group Corp.

The case stems from an incident on September 5, 2023, when Pittman visited the defendant's property located at 5250 Town Center Cir, Boca Raton. According to the complaint, Pittman was injured when a bathroom door fell on her wrist due to what she claims were negligent acts by the restaurant group. The plaintiff asserts that as a business invitee on the premises, she was owed a duty of care that was not met by the defendant.

Pittman's complaint details several allegations of negligence against Big Time Restaurant Group Corp. She accuses them of failing to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition and not correcting or warning about dangerous conditions they knew or should have known existed. Specifically, the complaint states: "Defendant created a dangerous condition...a hazard to patrons who were ambulating on said premises." Furthermore, it is alleged that this hazardous condition occurred with such regularity that the defendant should have been aware of its existence.

As a result of these alleged negligent acts or omissions, Pittman claims she suffered significant injuries including bodily harm, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Additionally, she cites expenses related to hospitalization and medical care as well as lost earnings and diminished earning capacity both past and future. The plaintiff contends that these losses are either permanent or ongoing.

In her filing, Pittman seeks judgment for damages exceeding $50,000 but is uncertain if it surpasses $75,000. She also requests costs associated with the action and any other equitable and legal relief deemed appropriate by the court. A trial by jury has been demanded for all issues triable by right.

Representing Jessica Pittman is attorney Lianibet Morejon from Wolfson & Leon law firm based in Miami.

The Case Number is: 502024CA006722XXXAMB Div: AK.
