Man sues Ampro Inc. for negligence after being struck by company vehicle

In the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida, a lawsuit has been filed by Bernard Mucci against Darius T. Pope and Ampro, Inc. The case number is 24-002125-CI, and it was e-filed on May 14, 2024. The lawsuit pertains to an incident that occurred on January 11, 2024, where Mucci was struck by a vehicle driven by Pope and owned by Ampro, Inc., resulting in significant injuries.

According to the complaint filed by attorney R. Evan Bassett on behalf of Mucci, Pope was operating a 2023 Chevrolet truck in the parking lot at 10500 Ulmerton Road in Largo, Florida when he hit Mucci, who was a pedestrian at the time. The suit claims that Pope was acting within the scope of his employment with Ampro, Inc. during the incident. As a result of being struck by the vehicle, Mucci sustained injuries to his body and extremities leading to pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, medical expenses, physical handicap, impaired working abilities, and an inability to enjoy a normal life.

Mucci is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from both defendants for negligence and under the doctrine of respondeat superior for Ampro's liability for its employee's actions. He demands compensation for his medical expenses and other related costs as well as any other relief entitled under Florida law.
