Lois Hanna, as the Personal Representative of the Estate of Zena Mundy, has filed a lawsuit against The Trustees of Advent Lutheran Church, Inc. d/b/a Advent Square in the 15th Judicial Circuit for Palm Beach County, Florida. The case number is 502024CA004514XXXAMB and was e-filed on May 15, 2024. The lawsuit alleges negligence and wrongful death due to inadequate care provided by the assisted living facility operated by Advent Square.

According to the complaint, Zena Mundy was admitted to Advent Square on June 25, 2021. On April 25, 2022, she fell and sustained severe injuries including a displaced fractured shoulder. She passed away five days later on April 30, 2022. The plaintiff claims that Advent Square failed to provide necessary fall precautions and proper supervision despite knowing Mundy's high risk for falls.

The plaintiff's legal team includes Harry A. Shevin and Joshua A. Rieger from Shevin Law Firm PLLC. They argue that Advent Square's negligence led to Mundy's injuries and subsequent death, causing significant emotional distress and financial burden on her family. Medical and funeral expenses have been incurred as a result of the incident.

The estate seeks all recoverable damages under law including medical expenses, burial costs, loss of net accumulations from the day of her fall to her death, as well as non-economic damages such as pain and suffering endured by both Zena Mundy and her surviving spouse.
