Tracy Cantrell Schall, as the personal representative of the estate of Norma Cantrell, has filed a lawsuit against East Bay NC, LLC d/b/a East Bay Rehabilitation Center and Clear Choice Health Care, LLC. The case, identified as 24-002022-CI, was filed on May 8, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The lawsuit centers around allegations of nursing home neglect resulting in wrongful death and severe injuries to Norma Cantrell.
According to the complaint filed by attorney Brian C. Guppenberger from Your Insurance Attorney, PLLC, Norma Cantrell was admitted to East Bay Rehabilitation Center on July 21, 2023. During her stay at the facility, she suffered extreme pain and significant injuries due to alleged negligence and poor care by the defendants. Despite being at risk for pressure ulcers and other complications, proper care was not consistently documented or provided.
The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, medical expenses incurred prior to death on October 9, 2023. Additionally, they seek compensation for funeral expenses and loss of net accumulations.
