In the Circuit Court of the 151 Judicial Circuit, Palm Beach County, Florida, a lawsuit has been filed by Seth Michaels as the personal representative of Carol Michaels' estate against ARHC ALSTUFO1 TRS, LLC. (doing business as Addington Place of Jupiter) and SLH HTI East Manager, LLC. The case ID is 502024CA004163XXXAMB Div: AG and was filed on May 3rd, 2024.

The plaintiff's counsel from Hughes Law Firm alleges that both defendants were authorized to operate assisted living homes or related healthcare facilities in Florida. The suit states that during Carol Michaels' residence at Addington Place of Jupiter, the staff failed to develop an adequate care plan and properly monitor her care and treatment. This alleged negligence led to Carol suffering injuries and deterioration of wounds due to inadequate fall precautions despite her known history of falls.

The lawsuit claims damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs for violations under Florida Statute 429 based on custodial care issues. The plaintiff asserts that all conditions precedent to filing this action have been satisfied and a good faith investigation into the merits of the claim was made.
