Myles Coleman has filed a lawsuit against MarineMax Charter Services, LLC in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case number is 24-001851-CI and was filed on April 25, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that MarineMax sold him a boat with undisclosed hurricane damage which later sank.

Represented by Lampert Law Firm, Coleman claims he purchased a 2014 Aquila 48 Power Catamaran from MarineMax for $500,000 on December 21, 2021. The boat sank off the coast of Florida on May 1, 2023, necessitating a rescue by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The complaint asserts that MarineMax failed to disclose prior hurricane damage to the boat and accuses them of fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, and violation of Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Coleman seeks damages greater than $50,000 exclusive of interest, costs, and attorney’s fees.
