In the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, a lawsuit was filed on April 16, 2024, by plaintiff Luis Adolfo Betances against defendants Emad Nabil Hanna and Progressive American Insurance Company. The case number is 24-001689-CI and it involves an action for damages exceeding $50,000.00 due to a motor vehicle accident.

Represented by attorneys Jessica E. Shahady and Milagros Lee Vazquez from The Ruth Law Team, Betances alleges that on September 1, 2023, Hanna negligently operated his motor vehicle causing it to collide with Betances' vehicle in Pinellas County. As a result of this accident, Betances claims to have suffered bodily injury and various losses amounting to over $75,000.00.

Betances further alleges that Hanna failed to carry sufficient bodily injury insurance to compensate for his damages. In addition, he claims that there was an active policy of automobile liability insurance with underinsured motorist coverage issued by Progressive American Insurance Company at the time of the incident.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages against both defendants along with costs of this action and demands a trial by jury.
