Chad E. Holmes and Karen M. Holmes have filed a lawsuit against Sean P. Heron, M.D., and Advanced Urology Institute, LLC in the Circuit Court of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case number is 24-001556-CI and was filed on April 8, 2024. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for alleged medical negligence.
The plaintiffs claim that Dr. Heron performed an in-office vasectomy on Mr. Holmes on November 18, 2022, which resulted in a left scrotal hematoma. Despite multiple visits to Dr. Heron's office and a surgical procedure at Northside Hospital, Mr. Holmes' condition worsened leading to the death of his left testicle due to insufficient blood supply.
Mr. Holmes has suffered numerous injuries and damages including loss of his left testicle, limitations in movement and strength, nerve damage and pain, physical impairment, loss of enjoyment of life among others as a result of the alleged negligence by Dr. Heron and Advanced Urology Institute.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for their damages which include past and future wage loss, past and future medical expenses, decreased libido and testosterone levels among other things.
