Carla Vera Warden sues Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority for negligence leading to bodily harm

Carla Vera Warden has filed a lawsuit against Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida. The case ID is 24-001285-CI and was filed on March 20, 2024. The plaintiff alleges negligence on part of the defendant leading to bodily harm.

The incident occurred on April 2, 2022, when Warden, a passenger on a bus owned by the defendant, fell from her wheelchair due to it not being properly secured. She sustained injuries as she struck her head during the fall. The defendant was notified about this incident on April 19, 2023.

Warden seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs, interest and attorney's fees. She claims that the actual value of her claim will be determined by a fair and just jury in accordance with Article 1, Section 21, Fla. Const.
