Rick Moreno has filed a lawsuit against Envision Credit Union in the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Leon County, Florida under case number 24-CA- —- 2024 CA 000438 on March 14, 2024. The suit alleges discrimination under the Florida Civil Rights Act and seeks damages exceeding $50,000.

The plaintiff, Rick Moreno, represented by an unnamed attorney, claims he was discriminated against due to his gender and sexual orientation during his employment with Envision Credit Union. Moreno started working for the defendant on June 20, 2019 as a Card Services Supervisor and was wrongfully terminated on June 11, 2020. He alleges that he was subjected to disparate treatment and held to different standards because of his identity as a gay Latino male.

Moreno's complaint details several instances of inappropriate behavior from Assistant Vice President of Account Operations Misty Fykes Donley and other coworkers. These include physical contact intended to silence him during meetings, jokes about his walk resembling a runway strut, Mexican jokes made by Donley who claimed immunity due to her upbringing around Mexicans, and being told not to "be a queen" but a leader.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment against Envision Credit Union for gender discrimination under Chapter 760 of the Florida Statutes. He alleges that he was treated differently due to his gender and sexual orientation which led to his wrongful termination. He further claims that coworkers outside his protected class were treated more favorably despite significant professional errors.
