A woman has filed an lawsuit claiming Habitat for Humanity of Florida Inc. alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Anabel Evora filed her complaint in federal court against Habitat for Humanity of Florida Inc.
In the complaint, Evora claims she was discriminated against and harassed due to her disability, which includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression and cancer which is in remission.
The plaintiff says her employment was terminated following her request for accommodation due to her disabilities. She claimed she was dismissed after requesting breaks to eat during lengthy meetings to prevent a flareup of her conditions. According to the document, Evora had informed Executive Director Roxanne Young about her disabilities and need for accommodation.
Evora is seeking back pay, other monetary damages, equitable relief, front pay, declaratory relief, compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney fees and court costs.
