Broadening the scope of the firm’s international corporate and transactional capabilities, Fox Rothschild is delighted to welcome partner Duccio Mortillaro as chair of the firm’s new Italy Practice Group. Mortillaro will maintain offices in New York, Miami and Los Angeles to serve his national practice.

“A growing number of international clients are looking to expand operations into the United States,” said Dianna G. El Hioum, Fox’s Chief Growth Strategist. “Duccio’s experience guiding cross-border transactions will greatly benefit these clients as well as American businesses seeking to expand internationally. This is especially the case in Italy and throughout Europe, where Duccio has strong market knowledge and longstanding business relationships.”

A highly experienced corporate attorney, Mortillaro focuses his practice on international business transactions. He represents multinational corporations and non-U.S. business entities — primarily from Italy and other European countries — in their U.S. investments, as well as U.S. companies doing business in Europe and Latin America. Mortillaro also acts as outside general counsel for international companies doing business in the United States, providing practical advice and assisting in all areas of the law.

Mortillaro is also experienced in project finance and has represented developers in all phases of domestic and international energy and telecommunication projects.

His clients, many of which operate in the manufacturing, high-tech and consumer goods sectors, range in size and scope from small, privately owned businesses to large multinational corporations. He also advises nonprofits.

Fluent in Italian and Spanish, Mortillaro has represented clients in numerous industries, including automotive, medical devices, fashion, electronics, packaging, industrial machinery, pharmaceuticals, construction and design.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and his LL.M. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, and also has a Law Degree from the University of Milan. He is admitted in several U.S. jurisdictions including California, Florida, New York, and Washington D.C., as well as Italy.

With 1,000 lawyers in 29 offices throughout the United States, Fox Rothschild is launching an Italy Practice Group comprised of a multidisciplinary team of attorneys versed in corporate, intellectual property, energy, pharma and medical devices, dispute resolution and international tax matters. The team will offer a comprehensive suite of legal services to the leaders of Italian business entities on a full range of matters and transactions including mergers and acquisitions, green field equity and strategic investments, joint ventures, project finance, capital raises and disposals on both sides of the Atlantic.

Prior to joining Fox, Mortillaro was a partner at Raines Feldman Littrell LLP.
