A woman says Orlando Health discriminated against her based on her race and gender.

Margaly Valcourt filed a federal lawsuit against Orlando Health, Inc.

Accoording to the complaint, Valcourt worked for Orlando Health as a Nurse Practitioner from August 2021 until April 2022. During her employment, she alleges she experienced discriminatory practices based on her race and gender.

The lawsuit was filed within 90 days of receiving her right-to-sue letter from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which was issued on September 28, 2023.

Valcourt is seeking damages and all available relief under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Florida Civil Rights Act. She claims her rights to be free from racial and gender discrimination were violated, resulting in lost pay, emotional distress, pain and suffering, among other things.
