Shook Of Counsel Ricardo Ampudia was selected as one of three U.S. national representatives to the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Young Lawyers’ Committee. Ampudia, a registered international arbitrator and an IBA member, stated his commitment to this new role.
“I strongly believe in the IBA’s work and mission to promote an effective, ethical and collegial global legal community,” Ampudia stated. “I am very excited about this opportunity.”
The Young Lawyers’ Committee established the network of national representatives worldwide to facilitate contacts between young IBA members within a jurisdiction and the international community. As a national representative, Ampudia will initially hold office for two years and has duties including to foster links between young lawyers and local young lawyers’ associations in the U.S. and to be the first point of contact for the Young Lawyers’ Committee officers.
Ampudia is board-certified in international litigation and arbitration. His practice serves clients in a wide range of industries, including agriculture, construction, hospitality, health care, internet and technology (including ICANN disputes), oil and gas, electricity and heat generation, textiles, steel manufacturing and transportation.
