Employee Benefits Lawyer Finn Pressly Joins Ballard Spahr

D. Finn Pressly—an attorney who advises employers across industries on health and welfare benefit plan compliance—has joined Ballard Spahr as a Partner, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Mr. Pressly will be a member of the firm’s Business and Transactions Department and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group. He will remain resident in Miami, Florida and work remotely with the firm’s Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis offices.

Throughout Mr. Pressly’s extensive experience counseling clients on health and welfare benefit plans, he has advised employers of all sizes on benefit plan design, compliance audits, health care reform compliance, and day-to-day plan administration.

As part of his practice, Mr. Pressly advises on compliance issues related to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and the ACA. He handles domestic partner benefits, retiree health plans, HSA/HDHPs, federal mental health parity compliance, wellness programs, and cost-containment strategies. He assists employers in analyzing the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs on their health and welfare benefit plans. Additionally, he handles due diligence work for mergers and acquisitions.
