ORLANDO - Parents are suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts after their son allegedly had an allergic reaction due to having dinner at one of the park's restaurants.

Lindsey and Jason Petric, as parents and natural guardians of Jack Petric, a minor, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 20 in the Orange County Circuit Court against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. for negligence and a consortium claim.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 8, 2021, the plaintiffs and their son, who has multiple allergies, dined at The Crystal Place restaurant and advised the assistant chef of their son's allergies. The assistant chef reviewed the list with the family and confirmed that Jack would not be served anything on the list, the suit says. Shortly after dinner, Jack suffered a severe allergic and anaphylactic reaction, the suit says.

The minor child was caused to suffer bodily injury in and about his body and extremities, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earning, loss of the ability to earn money and aggravation of previously existing condition.

Plaintiffs are represented by Mark R. Ahrens.
