Tampa Fiberglass sued for employee's amputated toes

TAMPA -- A man sues after having his toes amputated due to workplace injury. 

Leonard Villagomez filed a lawsuit on Nov. 11 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against Tampa Fiberglass, Inc. for negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 2, 2020, Villagomez was on the premises of Tampa Fiberglass, Inc. walking through the worksite when he stepped on a screw that penetrated his boot and into the right side of his foot. After cleaning the wound, Villagomez went back to work, the suit says. 

The injury became infected upon muddy water filling his boot, resulting in having two of his toes amputated due to the infection, the suit says.

Villagomez is represented by Jonathan I. Rotstein of Daytona Beach.
