TAMPA -- Catherine Walker, as personal representative of the Estate of Emily Walker, deceased, and the survivors, herself, Stephen Walker and Christopher Walker filed a complaint on October 29 Hillsborough County Circuit Court against Uber Technologies, Inc, Portier, LLC and Michaela Marie Lents over a fatal accident.

According to the complaint, on March 7, 2021, Christopher Walker was operating his motorcycle with his sister Emily Walker seated behind him. It is alleged that Lents was driving her Honda west on West Cass Street on behalf of Uber Eats and within the course and scope of her Uber Eats duties.

Christopher and Emily Walker were crossing UT University Drive during their eastbound travel on West Cass Street when Lents allegedly failed to yield the right of way and negligently made a left-hand turn onto UT University drive. As a result of the turn, both vehicles collided, and Emily Walker was killed.

The Walkers are represented by Andrew B. Yaffa of Grossman, Roth, Yaffa and Cohen, P.A.
