TALLAHASSEE - Takeshia Andrews filed a complaint on August 12 in Leon County Circuit Court against YourLife Development Partners, LLC. for Workers' Compensation retaliation.

According to the complaint, Andrews is a member of a protected class due to her job injury that occurred on August 30, 2020. Andrews claims to have been retaliated against because she obtained, or attempted to obtain Workers' Compensation. Andrews alleges that on Aug. 30, 2020, she was working the night shift with a limited staff when she noticed that a patient had fallen out of bed.

As she was trying to assist him back into bed, he bit her, punched her and caused multiple injuries, the suit says. Andrews alleges that she reported the incident and her injuries the same day and has since had to see several doctors and neurologists and is on multiple medications due to the incident. Andrews alleges that Defendant also withheld Workers' Compensation and terminated her on Sept. 14, 2020 for seeking it.

Andrews is represented by Marie A. Mattox.
