TAMPA -- A husband and wife are suing U-Haul for alleged injury caused to the wife after falling on an unsecured ramp.
Tracey and Frederick Rentz filed a complaint on August 23 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against U-Haul Co. of Florida for negligence and loss of consortium.
According to the complaint, on October 7, 2019, Tracey Rentz rented a U-Box and ramp. As part of the rental transaction, Defendant was responsible for connection/attaching the U-Box ramp to the U-Box knowing that Tracey Rentz would be using it and walking up and down from the ramp to load items, the suit says.
The Rentzes allege that U-Haul negligently failed to securely attach/connect the U-Box ramp to the U-Box. Tracey Rentz allegedly suffered a fall and injury due to the unsecured ramp.
The Rentzes are represented by Robert F. McLaughlin of Morgan and Morgan Tampa, P.A.
