ORLANDO -- A woman is suing the Orange County Florida School Board after her son was allegedly injured while at school.

Latoya Douglas, as natural parent and guardian of Lidarious Pryor, a minor child, filed a complaint on August 12 in Orange County Circuit Court against Orange County Florida School Board for negligence and loss of consortium.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 4, 2019, Pryor was at the Meadowbrook Middle School yard during his physical education class when he fell in a hole, causing injury to his left shoulder. EMS was called to the scene by a Meadowbrook employee, and the student was transported to a hospital that determined he broke his left shoulder and performed emergency surgery.

Latoya Douglas alleges that the injury to her child was the direct result of the school's negligence to maintain its grounds.

Douglas seeks a jury trial on the issue. Douglas is represented by Amanda Anderson Bright of Fenderson Law Firm.
