TALLAHASSEE -- A man is suing his former attorney for professional negligence.
Samuel A. Osborne filed a complaint on August 16 in Leon County Circuit Court against Shawn Heath and Dudley, Sellers, Healy and Heath, PLLC. for professional negligence.
According to the complaint, Osborne became involved in a lawsuit in 2007. Between 2010 and 2011, Shawn Heath was hired as Osborne's attorney. Osborne alleges that during Heath's representation, which ended in the later part of 2019, multiple actions were taken by Heath that constituted neglect of duty and his negligence was the proximate cause of damage or loss to Osborne.
In August 2019, Heath admitted that he committed malpractice to one of more persons during the trial and that his overriding interest in making money caused him to attempt to force Osborne to accept a settlement in the litigation that he knew Osborne did not want, the suit claims.
Osborne seeks general and compensatory damages, attorney's fees and cost of suit. Osborne is represented by Marie A. Mattox, P.A.
