TAMPA - A woman is suing a nursing home for negligence over the recent death of her mother.
Linda L. Tait, the personal representative of the estate of Ann L. Barrett, filed a complaint on June 25 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against several defendants over Barrett's treatment at Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park.
According to the complaint, on July 1, 2015, Barrett was admitted to Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park. Tait alleges that while Barrett was a resident of Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park, staff did not adequately provide Barrett with a safe environment, protect her from unexplained bruising, failed to monitor significant signs and symptoms of infection, failed to provide adequate and appropriate hygiene, skin care and assessments, failed to prevent the development of decubitus ulcers, failed to maintain appropriate records and properly documents injuries, failed to monitor and adequately respond to changes in physical signs and symptoms, failed to respond to changes in malnutrition and dehydration status, failed to provide appropriate narcotic drug evaluation and failed to provide adequate and consistent health care.
All of this combined to cause the premature death of Barrett in February, the lawsuit claims.
Tait seeks disgorgement of profits, consequential damages, prejudgement interest, punitive damages, attorney's fees and cost of suit. Tait is represented by Ryan G. Dwyer.
