TAMPA - A neurology group faces medical malpractice allegations in Hillsborough County Circuit Court.

Plaintiff Ellenn Strong filed the complaint on April 16 against Dr. Demetrios Konstas and Neurological Specialties Neurology PA. Strong became a patient of the defendants after she hit her face on a door frame on September 22, 2018, and began experiencing indicators of a neurological issue.

The testing done by defendant Konstas on the plaintiff found no evidence of neuropathy despite her continued symptoms of numbness in the legs, lack of balance and difficulty walking, the suit says. Konstas cleared Strong to return to work in late November.

In early December 2018, Strong was admitted to the Lakeland Regional Medical Center where multiple spinal injuries were found, including a large disc extrusion, the suit says. She underwent a surgical operation to amend the injuries that allegedly went unnoticed by Konstas.

The defendants are charged with medical negligence and vicarious liability in medical malpractice.

Strong is represented by Colling Gilbert Wright and Carter LLC of Orlando.

The defendants rejected the plaintiff's claim on March 26.
