TALLAHASSEE - An April 14 complaint in the Leon County Circuit Court accuses Tallahassee Primary Care Associates PA and an unidentified employee of medical negligence.

According to the suit, plaintiff Robin Slade visited the defendant's Tallahassee Primary Care Associates Physician Lab for bloodwork on May 24, 2019.

Slade alleges that the unidentified employee stuck the needle for the blood draw too far into her arm; Slade says she began to experience numbness in her hand and fingers. The employee allegedly did not document that Slade immediately complained of intense pain when the needle was injected.

The plaintiff was later diagnosed with carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome and nerve damage in the arm, requiring surgical repair. The physician found the injury to be a direct result of the blood draw, the suit says.

The defendants are accused of negligence and vicarious liability. Slade is represented by Webster + Baptiste PLLC of Tallahassee in her request for damages.
