TAMPA - Lighthouse Bay Holdings Ltd., the owner of the Lighthouse Bay Apartments, was sued in the Hillsborough County Circuit Court by a former tenant who says her bedroom ceiling fan randomly came crashing down on her in the middle of the night.
According to documents filed on March 19, plaintiff Taina Lynn Applegate lived in an apartment owned and managed by the defendant in Tampa. On April 10, 2017, Applegate was sleeping in her bedroom when she says her ceiling fan fell on her, causing serious disfigurement and injury.
Lighthouse Bay is sued for negligence, breach of duty to reasonably inspect premises and breach of the implied warranty of habitability.
Applegate requests a jury trial to determine the damages she's warranted for her injuries.She is represented by Unice Salzman Jensen PA of Trinity.
