TALLAHASSEE - The Tallahassee Community College District Board of Trustees faces civil charges in the Leon County Circuit Court for alleged race and gender discrimination and retaliation.
According to documents filed on March 21, plaintiff Juanita Ross-Dilworth is a former employee of the defendant. She is an African American woman.
Ross-Dilworth says that, despite her positive job performance and lack of need for discipline or reprimanding, she was subjected to unfair treatment based on her sex and race, including wage disparity, different job standards, extra duties and retaliation.
The plaintiff says that white employees and male employees were paid more for similar or less roles than hers.
After voicing her concerns to the defendant, the plaintiff was allegedly retaliated against, resulting in her termination from the company.
Ross-Dilworth seeks punitive damages for the allegations in the suit. She is represented by Marie A. Mattox PA of Tallahassee.
