TALLAHASSEE - The Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic faces medical malpractice accusations in the Leon County Circuit Court.
According to documents filed on March 17, the allegations come from plaintiff Yu "Lucy" Wang, a widow who says the clinic ignored the fact that her husband had cancer.
Decedent Christian Nowicki visited the clinic in May 2020 for severe back pain. In the lab results from Nowicki's visit it was found that he had multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells that degenerates bones.
The lawsuit accuses the clinic of taking no action on Nowicki's diagnosis and not making any notation of the lab results in his record.
As a result of the clinic's negligence in informing Nowicki of his condition, he suffered a pulmonary embolus, went into cardiopulmonary arrest and died, the suit says.
The clinic is charged with negligence. Wang is represented by Hinkle and Foran of Tallahassee.
