CLEARWATER — A guest is suing a Madeira Beach motel/resort owner, alleging negligence and premises liability led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Ksenija Rajcevic filed a complaint Feb. 11 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Selenski Rentals LLC, doing business as Schooner Hotel, alleging failure to ensure that the premises was kept in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on July 31, 2018, Rajcevic was an invitee at Schooner Hotel in Maderia Beach. While attempting to use the bathroom in the hotel room she was occupying, Rajcevic says she tripped on the uneven flooring.

The suit says Rajcevic sustained serious injuries in and about his body and extremities, resulting in pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Schooner Hotel negligently and carelessly allowed an uneven surface to exist and failed to properly warn its clientele of the floor's dangerous condition.

Rajcevic seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Justin W. Pimenta of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk in Tampa.
