ORLANDO — A property owner is suing Security First Insurance Company, a licensed insurer, citing alleged breach of insurance policy.

Ralph Perez filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida-Orange County against Security First Insurance Company alleging that it failed to comply with the terms of his insurance policy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 3, 2018, his dwelling located at 6471 Rockaway Street in Orlando and personal property sustained a covered loss due to water damage. At the time of the incident, the homeowner’s insurance policy issued by the defendant was in full force and effect. Perez holds Security First Insurance Company responsible because it allegedly failed to provide necessary reimbursement for a covered loss in accordance with the insurance contract.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages that exceed $15,000, excluding attorney’s fees, costs and interest and any other relief deemed just and equitable. He is represented by Rafael F. Garcia of The Law Offices of Garcia & Zalloum, PLLC in Orlando.
