CLEARWATER — A customer suing Stanley Black & Decker, alleging strict liability and manufacturing defect with a table saw that injured the plaintiff.

Michael Ragle filed a complaint Dec. 21, 2018, in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Stanley Black & Decker Inc. alleging the defendant negligently placed into the stream of commerce a DeWalt table saw that was defective.

According to the complaint, on April 17, 2018, Ragle was using the defendant's DeWalt table saw when his middle finger was cut off down to the first knuckle. He says he sustained physical pain and suffering, scarring and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Stanley Black & Decker failed to install safety guard or any flesh sensing technology on its DeWalt table saws and failed to provide adequate instructions and warnings in using the saw.

Ragle seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of costs, interest and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Jonathan I. Rotstein of Law Office of Rotstein & Shiffman LLC in Daytona Beach.
