Motorist sues driver and owner of vehicle that hit hers

CLEARWATER — A motorist is suing Bryant J. Bouttie and Kevin F. O'Brien, driver and vehicle owner, citing alleged negligence.

Denise Flowers filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida—Pinellas County against the defendants alleging that O'Brien was vicariously liable for the negligent acts of Bouttie.

According to the complaint, Flowers alleges that n Feb. 5, 2018, she was involved in a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle owned by O'Brien and driven by Bouttie. She holds Bouttie and O'Brien responsible because Bouttie failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to avoid the collision and rear-ended her vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney’s fees and all issues so triable. She is represented by Mark H. Wright and Jason Farthing of Jayson, Farthing, Skafidas & Wright, PA in Tampa.
