Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Holland & Knight's Leonard H. Gilbert, a partner in the firm's Tampa office, was honored with a Resolution of the Court from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals honoring his contributions to the court, including his five-year tenure as president of the Eleventh Circuit Historical Society.

A portrait-size framed resolution was presented by Ed Carnes, Chief Judge of the Eleventh Circuit, at the court's annual holiday luncheon in Atlanta on December 12, an event that draws several hundred attendees, federal judges, court staff and attorneys. The resolution states that, "Under Leonard's leadership, the Historical Society thrived, accomplishing important objectives and furthering its mission of fostering public appreciation of the federal courts in our circuit."

In addition to serving as president of the Eleventh Circuit Historical Society, Mr. Gilbert is a member of the court's Nonappropriated Funds Committee.

Mr. Gilbert is a graduate of Harvard Law School and a member of Holland & Knight's Financial Services Practice Group. He has represented numerous state, national and international banks and other financial institutions, as well as public bodies and secured and unsecured creditors' committees. He has had significant involvement in high profile and complex cases receiving international attention. He is consistently recognized as a top banking, bankruptcy and creditors' rights lawyer by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America, and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.
