ORLANDO — An Osceola County man is suing Burger King, alleging negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff.

Bruce Crowther filed a complaint Dec. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against B/K 535 LLC, doing business as Burger King, alleging failure to protect the safety of its invitees.

According to the complaint, on June 11, 2016, Crowther was at the Burger King, 12491 Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, as a paying customer when he tripped due to a latent transition in the walkway of the parking lot. As a result of the defendant's negligence, the suit says, Crowther sustained bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Burger King failed to maintain the common area where invitees have access to the restaurant, failed to warn Crowther of the dangerous area and failed to properly inspect the area to prevent accidents.

Crowther seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Craig R. Lynd and Jeffrey S. Kaufman of Kaufman & Lynd PLLC in Orlando.
