ORLANDO — An Orlando furniture company is suing a Massachusetts lighting business, alleging breach of contract.
Hammer Design Resources, Inc. filed a complaint Dec. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Royal Contract Lighting, Inc. alleging failure to pay the commission due of more than $87,000.
According to the complaint, Hammer Design Resources entered into a verbal agreement with the defendant wherein Hammer referred customers to Royal to purchase lighting and lighting-related fixtures and equipment.
The suit says Royal Contract has, in the past, paid Hammer Design commissions based on the verbal agreement. However, the plaintiff said it is currently due $87,621.09 in commission for orders placed between Jan. 1, 2017 through Aug. 8, 2018.
The plaintiff alleges Royal Contract Lighting has failed and refuses to pay the commission owed in the sum of $87,621.09 that is due with interest on the account.
Hammer Design Resources seeks trial by jury, judgment for $87,621.09, plus prejudgment interest, court costs and all other just and equitable relief. It is represented by attorney James E. Shepherd of Forster Boughman & Lefkowitz in Maitland.
