CLEARWATER — Two motorists are suing Geico General Insurance Company, Garry Stine and Randy Perillo, automobile insurer, driver and owner, citing alleged breach of contract and negligence.

Zamia Keys and Helen Brown-Keys filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against the defendants alleging that Perillo negligently permitted Stine to operate his uninsured motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 21, 2017, they were injured in a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 275 at Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County. They suffered serious injuries and damages. At the time of the crash, the policy issued by Geico was in full force and effect. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because Perillo negligently permitted Stine to operate his uninsured motor vehicle. and Geico denied coverage under the policy and failed to pay the uninsured motorist benefits owed to plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages exceeding $15,000, costs and interest and such further relief as the court deems proper. They are represented by Dennis Hernandez of Dennis Hernandez & Associates in Tampa.
