ORLANDO — An Orlando couple is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Marie Leroy and Jean Charles Leroy filed a complaint Dec. 6 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Security Insurance Company, alleging the declined to fully indemnify the plaintiffs for the value of their claim pursuant to the terms and conditions of the policy.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, the Leroy property at 2097 Allegheny Court, Orlando, sustained damage as a result of Hurricane Irma.

The Leroys say they promptly provided notice of the loss to American Security but the insurance company has declined to provide compensation despite sending an inspector to examine the loss at the Orlando property and after evaluating the loss and damage.

The plaintiffs allege American Security Insurance failed of to properly indemnify the Leroys plaintiffs for losses covered by the defendant's insurance contract.

The Leroys seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, attorney fees, court costs and prejudgment interest. They are represented by attorney Chad J. Robinson of Boca Raton.
