Pinellas County motorist alleges another driver's negligence caused Clearwater crash

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a motorist, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Carmen Santiago filed a complaint Dec. 4 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Roberto Vasquez alleging the driver failed to exercise reasonable and prudent care for the safety of other motorists.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 8, Santiago was injured in an automobile crash on Gulf to Bay Boulevard and U.S. Highway 19 Service Road West in Clearwater when Vasquez failed to operate his vehicle in a controlled manner. Santiago says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical expenses. 

Santiago seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Carl J. DiCampli and George Lorenzo of Lorenzo & Lorenzo PA in Tampa.
