Visitor alleges Seminole rental property co-operator's negligence caused injuries

CLEARWATER — A visitor is suing a Seminole rental property co-operator, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Melissa Briscoe filed a complaint Nov. 27 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Seminole Village Apartments. alleging failure to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on April 21, 2016, Briscoe was lawfully on the defendant's property at 7770 Starkey Road, Seminole, when she tripped in an area with a broken asphalt. She says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of earnings and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Seminole Village Apartments failed to provide warning devices and/or signs at or near the broken asphalt.

Briscoe seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, court costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Paul R. Cavonis and Joseph Murphy of DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis PA in Seminole.
